**Applications period extended**

     SDJACL is excited to announce a new program that provides financial assistance to High School students who are interested in studying abroad.  The chapter's first offering will support participation in the 2023 DISCOVER S.T.E.A.M. in Japan program.  Students from low-income families that are interested in participating in the program can apply for $1,000 financial assistance awards.

     The 2023 Discover S.T.E.A.M. in Japan program will expose San Diego area students to a different culture and furthers JACL's mission to create universal civil rights and social justice through fostering cross-cultural understanding.

     Applicants for financial assistance must be eligible to participate in the 2023 Discover S.T.E.A.M. program in Japan.  Financial awards will be given after registration for the program is confirmed.  Awards will be granted based on a combination of merit (dictated by application guidelines) and financial need.

    Applications can still be submitted and awards will be given based on eligibility.
