SDJACL Community Dialogue: Thurs., March 10, 2022, 6:30-8:00 pm, feat. Prof. Christen Sasaki

We are delighted that the next community-building SDJACL Monthly Dialogues will feature Christen Sasaki, Assistant Professor, UCSD Ethnic Studies.

Professor Sasaki teaches courses on Asian American Studies, Japanese American History, and Race and Empire in the 19th Century. Her research focuses on the Asian American experience particularly in the development of Hawaii and is the author of a forthcoming book, Pacific Confluence: Negotiating the Nation in Nineteenth Century Hawai'i. She will share her views on the importance of Ethnic Studies, particularly in higher education, and we will have a chance to discuss her experiences in Hawaii versus the mainland and answer any questions about her field of study.
