Thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer and attendee who helped us turn Saturday’s 90th anniversary gala into a reality.
From our amazing masters of ceremonies David Ono and Tamlyn Tomita to our guest of honor, George Takei, who reminded us that while Japanese Americans' sufferings may be in the past, there are communities who are currently facing oppression.
It's our duty to stand up for all our sisters and brothers and let our voices be heard.

In case you missed it,
Our Lost Years feature documentary by Lane Nishikawa is available on our website for a donation.
This documentary commemorates the 75th anniversary of the signing of Executive Order 9066 in 1942, which sent the 120,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans into the ten internment camps during World War II, and the 30th anniversary of the signing of H.R. 442, the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, which officially apologized for the unjust violation of their civil rights.

Since 1929, the JACL has defended the rights of our immigrant forefathers, fighting for the right of citizenship, the right to own land, against anti-interracial marriage laws, and racial discrimination.
Today, the JACL’s mission strives to defend the rights of all Americans, marching with Martin Luther King in Washington and Selma, giving testimony during the Loving vs Virginia hearings, standing up as the first national Asian American organization to support same sex marriage, and more recently speaking up in defense of our Arab and Muslim American communities after 9/11.
